Our Future Healthcare Workers
Preparing and Engaging Our Youth
NOHSIC will engage in three planning processes that will focus on future, incumbent and new workers and design strategies that will develop the region’s healthcare workforce pipeline.
This plan is reflective of the Future Workforce Strategy designed by NOHSIC and for implementation across the region in pilot phases from 2012-2015. Our definition of our Future Workforce includes youth ages 5 through 24. From August through December 2011, NOHSIC, through a committee, discussed and reviewed a Future Workforce plan that incorporated several best-practice strategies already in existence in our region, in our systems and nationally.
NOHSIC will work in partnership with MyCom to promote our future workforce and the need to prepare them for our healthcare opportunities.
MyCom is a network of people who believe youth development is a direct path to healthy, safe communities for everyone. We build strengths in young people andtheir neighborhoods by connecting existing programs and resources, and funding opportunities for positive growth. We also encourage all sectors of society to take responsibility for children’s development and transition into productive
adulthood.
MyCom’s mission is to connect young people in Greater Cleveland with positive experiences and caring adults they need to lead good lives, supplementing the parenting and education of our youth.
